We will be hosting a Part 2 follow up conversation to our special 3G Forum that was held on Oct 17. We hope to continue the conversation around the ways that our legacy is shaping our reactions to the recent horrific events in Israel.

As a reminder, we are not offering space to explore why these events unfolded this way, the history of the conflict, or anything else politically motivated. The purpose of the forum will solely be to help with general processing and to give people a safe space to share feelings and experiences as 3Gs.

World-renowned scholar Dr. Michael Berenbaum will speak to us about the Holocaust, followed by a short program by pianist Noah Sonderling playing music of composers who did not survive the Holocaust.

Founding Director Dr. Miriam Klein Kassenoff has led the Institute for the past 22 years, building a system that gives public school teachers the necessary facts and presentational skills to handle this sensitive topic. Dr. Kassenoff is a child survivor who was trained at Yad Vashem and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as well as by the leaders of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

Please note: this group is specifically for grandchildren of holocaust survivors (3Gs). We gather to share our stories, experiences, and feelings specifically as 3Gs.

In an hour-long guided journaling practice, 3G author Rachael Cerrotti will lead us through writing prompts to help us process the events unfolding over the past week, focusing us on who we are and want to be at this challenging time. There will be time for facilitated conversation between writing prompts, and all forms of creative expression are welcome.

Join 3G Chicago for a compelling conversation between two descendants of Holocaust Survivors and the descendant of a perpetrator who was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Jews. This rare opportunity to hear from people whose family histories were directly impacted by the Holocaust offers a unique perspective on how individuals from different backgrounds can come together to combat hatred.
